Quick biography

I have an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and a degree in English Literature from Lancaster University.

I am a qualified teacher with a full CRB check and it is my life's work to spread the good word about words - written, spoken, performed.

I perform poetry at venues in the south of England whenever I have a chance. My poetry has been published in poetry magazines and online and I was a shortlisted poet in the Canon 'Emerging Poets' 2009 competition.
I have written two plays for schools, and one of these is having original music scored for it so it can be published.
My first novel is recently completed and is currently looking for a publisher.

I also enjoy drawing and design and have created all the visuals/logos on this website.

Welcome!

However you arrived here - search engine, flying carpet, mistyping - please stay and look around.

This website is here to promote the written and spoken word. It contains writing by me and also the children I have worked with from primary age through to secondary school for you to enjoy. You will also find some of my writing about writing and some discussion of the process of writing with examples.

Finally, there are details for the Creative Writing Workshops I offer to schools andorganisations - I am open to offers as a poet, writer and performer.

Thank you for your visit and come back soon.
